He first performed stand-up at a new act comedy night in Balham in July 2003 and since then has long been established at the very top of the UK's comedy circuit. Within his first year of performing, he won the 'Jongleurs J2O Last Laugh' competition, came runner up in the Laughing Horse New Act of the Year and was placed third in Channel 4's 'So You Think You're Funny competition. Between 2005 and 2012, he took six stand-up shows to the Edinburgh Festival and in 2011 was awarded the Creative Diversity Award for comedy by a Channel 4-led panel of broadcasters which also included BBC, ITV and Sky. He appeared in three series of 'At The Comedy Store' in 2008 for Paramount Comedy, and in 2010 and 2012 for Comedy Central. In 2010, he featured in BBC One's end of year spoof news review, 'Unwrapped with Miranda Hart' and in 2011 he appeared in ITV's series 'Stand-up Hero'. In 2012, he appeared alongside fellow comedians in Jimmy Carr's Comedians Special charity episode of 'Celebrity Deal or No Deal'. Also in 2014, he starred in the Jimmy McGovern drama series 'Moving On' alongside Anna Crilly and Neil Fitzmaurice. Chris has now become a familiar face on TV. On the 20th of August 2018, he appeared in the long running BBC soap opera Eastenders and on the 18th of October 2019 on the BBC comedy panel show 'Would I Lie To You'. Having also made appearances on shows such as 'QI' (BBC Two), '8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown' (Channel 4), 'Hypothetical' (Dave), 'Alan Davies: As yet Untitled' (Dave), 'Celebrity Chase' (ITV), 'Blankety Blank' (BBC1), 'Celebrity Antiques Road Trip' (BBC2), 'Unforgivable' (Dave), 'Comedians Giving Lectures' (Dave) to name but a very few including appearing three times on the BBC's flagship stand-up show 'Live at the Apollo', hosting the show in January 2022. In November 2021, Chris was seen by millions when he made his debut on the Royal Variety Performance, which was filmed at The Royal Albert Hall infront of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. He can also regularly be heard on Radio 4, with multiple appearances across shows such as 'The News Quiz', 'The Now Show', and 'Saturday Live'. In 2023, Chris’s 4 part travel show ‘Wonders of the World I Can’t See’ will be broadcast on C4.
Having performed all over the world, including across Asia and the Middle east, he continues on his UK tour with his show 'Speaky Blinder' with over 140 dates booked across the UK, finishing at The Shepherds Bush Empire, May 13th 2023.
