Pool Of Sound - Dollop

Emerging from the vibrant music scene of Liverpool, 'Dollop' is a four-piece indie rock band, consisting of Stan on vocals and rhythm guitar, Gregory on backing vocals and lead guitar, Joe on bass guitar and Reuel on drums and are poised to take the music world by storm. Formed in Liverpool in early 2023, during their university years, the group’s songwriting style is meticulous and unorthodox, drawing inspiration from genres like post-punk, psychedelia, and jazz. The band has honed their craft, developing a distinctive sound and captivating live performances that have earned them a devoted following. Their music dives into the complexities of modern life, transforming everyday experiences into compelling musical narratives with their songs exploring themes of adulthood, disillusionment, and the challenges of navigating relationships, resonating with a generation grappling with the transition from youthful freedom to the responsibilities of adulthood.

They made their official artistic entrance with their brand new debut single titled 'A Dog Indoors', a track that marked their arrival on the music scene in spectacular fashion. Using the metaphor of man’s best friend, the song explores themes of domestication and submission, unpacking the complex facets of bending to someone’s will to serve their desires. It was an explosive introduction to the band's sound, as Stan sings, " Illusion is dancing again, the steps are the same it is only the partner that's changed," as it  encapsulates the feeling of being trapped in a cycle of manipulation. This detail translates to their live shows, which are explosive, theatrical, and comedic, yet accessible and widely appealing.

The band have received a lot of support for their music from BBC Introducing, with 'My Poor Wet Foot' being a part of the Merseyside '2025 Wrapped' show. Their live shows continue to grow in scale and popularity, with a headline at District and support slot with 'Warmduscher' under their belts, 'Dollop' are making lots of strange noises, and people are listening. Having headlined The Jacaranda on the 8th of August 2024, they appeared at the Jacaranda again in September 2025, with their set reviewed by Boot-music, " Next to seize the stage was the Indie band 'Dollop', who hurled into the kind of loud, boisterous Rock you can feel on your skin. Adorned with shades and a luminescent green shirt, frontman Stan maintained cool composure amongst Rocky wails, growls and enticing originals such as 'A Dog Indoors' and 'Floating Voter'. With guitar leads like snakes across the small stage and drummer Reuel outputting rolling thunder with trailing snare rolls and slashing cymbals, the band created a post-punk jungle underlit with psychedelia."
