A History Of Liverpool Thespians - Philip Olivier

Philip Lawrence Borg-Olivier was born on the 4th of June 1980 in Liverpool. He confessed that he went to a private all-boys Catholic school and led a sheltered life. His first role was in 1995 in the Channel 4 production 'Hearts and Minds' with Christopher Eccleston. Then in 1996, he started playing his first television role as Timothy 'Tinhead' O'Leary in the Channel 4 soap opera 'Brookside'. He first played the role as 'Tinhead' at age 15 and initially played a bully - but changed his ways when his actions nearly killed his little sister. Forming an unlikely bond with Sinbad, who invited the troubled teen to live with him, Tinhead then started a relationship with Emily Shadwick (played by Jennifer Ellison)Deeply infatuated with Emily, he became her accomplice in a series of increasingly dangerous actions but as these actions became more extreme, he began to have doubts about her motives, leading to a temporary break-up. However, Emily's pleas led to a reconciliation, and they eventually married. However when Emily was killed in a siege in 2002, he started to go off the rails and narrowly avoided jail several times. His role  continued until the show was cancelled in 2003 but he appeared in the one-off drama 'Brookside: Unfinished Business', which followed the series in 2003. In the final episodes of the show he was working as a limo driver and was involved in the killing of a drug dealer.

Despite dreams of a Hollywood acting career, he fell into tourism in his hometown by chance when his kids came along, as he felt that being a jobbing actor wouldn't work for him and his family. A proud dad of five children, he has three boys and two girls with his girlfriend, Amy Virtue. Now, Philip has a very normal job and is a managing director of Liverpool City Sights, a thriving bus tour business. He has successfully transitioned into an entrepreneurial role as the owner and has gained a 5-star rating on Trip Advisor.

Moored in Canning Dock, Daffodil Liverpool is a new bar, restaurant and events space aboard the restored former Royal Daffodil Mersey Ferry which took five years to restore. The space opened its doors on the 15th of December 2024. Owners Philip Olivier and Joshua Boyd put in a noteworthy amount of work which has transformed the ferry into a dining and bar space following a £3.5m renovation project which has transformed the ship into an opulent haven with sleek interiors and carefully curated food and drinks menus.
