Christian McGaffney was born in Liverpool on the 8th of April 1989 but later moved to Venezuela, where he pursued his passion for acting and is now a renowned Venezuelan actor who has captured the hearts of many through his compelling performances in soap operas and films. His career began in 2005 with a role as David for 105 episodes in the television series 'Con Toda el Alma'. This initial exposure laid the groundwork for his future success in the entertainment industry and was followed by the TV series 'Torrente' (2008) in which he played the character Benjamin for 58 episodes. The following year he was in 92 episodes of the comedy drama 'Un esposo para Estela' in which he played Delfin Fundora. Following his appearance in the TV comedy series 'Harina de Otro Costal' (2010) his portrayal of Domingo Uribe in 'Natalia del Mar' (2011-12) catapulted him to fame, making him a household name in Venezuela. Then followed Las Bandidas (2013), the Spanish-language telenovela 'Virgen de la Calle' (Street's Virgin) in 2013 also and the TV series 'Yo So Franky' (2016).
He also made a notable appearance as Gabe in the crime thriller 'Among Thieves' (2019), marking his big-screen debut. There then followed 'The Duel' (2023) in which he played Joey and also starred as Simon in 'Simon' (2023), as a Venezuelan freedom fighter exiled in Miami.
He has been married to actress and singer Maria Gabriela de Faria since the 18th of January 2020. Their first meeting on the set of a television show led to an instantaneous love affair that never stopped. The couple were inseparable from the moment they met, and moved in together the following week. "We just knew we wanted to be together from the very first night," says Maria. The couple originally planned to marry on the coast of their home country, Venezuela, but because of political unrest, they opted for gorgeous Algarrobo, Valparaíso in Chile instead.
