James Ardrey is his real name but it was a little too forgettable so he felt he needed to create an
image. He picked the name Ferry first, just because he thought it was a
cool name, plus his early music was inspired by Ferry Corsten, and Tom just
seemed to fit as a first name. Now Liverpudlian production talent Tom Ferry is one to watch as he has made a credible name for
himself in the UK dance scene in such a short amount of time. His sound
design is heavily inspired by the likes of Pryda, Axwell and the late
Avicii. He's a
self-professed introvert, but you'd never know from listening to his
music. Whether he's making uplifting summer house (check the Love
Island sync), synth heavy or deep house, or the type of tune that goes
on rotation with 'Above & Beyond', he's got all bases covered. He can remember discovering dance music when he was really young and really
enjoying it, but never understood it at all. Mike Di Scala had
a single at the time back in 2001 which he really liked and a couple of
years later found out that he was also from Liverpool and thought that
if Mike could do it, he probably could too. So he downloaded some software called Mixcraft and started chopping
up other people's songs and turning them into something else, sampling
drums and trying to make his own beats. Not understanding any of it, as he
had no musical knowledge or experience, he just kept doing it for hours
every day. This has seen Tom go from small bedroom producer to a front runner in UK Piano House and Garage in just a matter of years. Tom's first notable achievement came in 2015 when his self-released song
'Plateau' was picked up by Ultra Music, and was later re-released as
'Better With You' featuring Duane Harden, and breached the top 40
Beatport charts. Being no stranger to remixes, Tom took matters into his own hands with
his unofficial remix of Ariana Grande's hit 'Into You'. It scored him
the #1 Spot on Hype Machine, holding
over 1 million plays on Soundcloud and was included in Billboard’s Top 8
Ariana Grande remixes of all time. He has accumulated millions of plays across YouTube and SoundCloud with
tracks such as 'Plateau', 'Ur Love' and 'Out Of Sight'.
Releasing with Armada Music, Ultra Music and Universal Music Group,
Tom is no stranger to being in the spotlight. After his bootleg
efforts caught the attention of thousands, labels were soon attracted to
this young artist resulting in official remix work for BB Diamond and a
personal mention from 'Just Kiddin' for his 'Thinking About It' remix. His next original release would come in the April of 2016 with the
release of 'Found it In You' via Casual Jam records & Mr Revillz.
Accompanying the original was a remix from the talented Matvey Emerson
and a beautiful visual music video uploaded to the 1 million subs
channel Mr. Revillz. In addition to this achievement,
official remixes for artists such as Inna, Nina Sky, Two Friends and
Giorgio Moroder soon came along and fueled dancefloors worldwide.
His original track 'By My Side', which features vocals from
X-factor Australia alumni Michaela Baranov, caught fire being
supported by Sam Feldt, Bakermat and MOWE and received remix worm from the
illustrious likes of Truth x Lies and Richard Sharkey. Following releases on Ultra Music, working with the legendary Duane
Harden and filling his bag with 80 million streams, he unveiled his
debut album in 2021, 'Shapes' on ChillYourMind, finding inspiration in his fellow Liverpudlian Mike Di Scala
(Camelphat) and his very niche interests on YouTube. September the 21st, 2023 saw Tom release his debut Monstercat single, 'The One You Call', in collaboration with WILL MAC and Nina Carr. Then in October he posted on Facebook -
On his Facebok page in January 2024 he posted; "Started this track with Sylvie
back in 2020 after we made 'Inhale Exhale' - it went through many
versions and late last year, I decided it was time to get it out there,
so I reached out to two of my favourite producers Ging Deeper' to give it a bit of extra magic. Out this Friday via Selected. The feedback so far has been amazing
