That Was The Champion's League Final That Was

Juventus v Barcelona was a game for football fans to savour

Both teams claiming to win a treble, both asking no favour.

After just five minutes it looked like being a Barcelona stroll,

When a sublime passing move ended with the opening goal.

But Juve were resilient, none more so than veteran Buffon,

And a scrambled equaliser came before an hour was gone.

Then a fierce Messi shot that the keeper could not hold

Fell to that predator Suarez and Juventus began to fold.

The 3rd attacking superstar, Neymar, with the game's final kick

Finished off a counter attack with a finish that was 'oh so slick'.

It was Xavi's fourth European Cup win and Barcelona's fifth.

To think it was only in January people thought they were adrift.

Manager Luis Enrique appears to be the man to keep this team on track,

The defence may sometimes be under pressure, but they have 'that Attack'!
