One For The Future?

Part of the new philosophy at Liverpool involves the signing of good young players who would have a good sell-on value. So when one comes along it is not unusual for Rodgers to believe Liverpool fans will enjoy watching him in action. Especially when he is talented and has an enthusiastic work rate the anticipation grows.
Manager Brendan Rodgers had this to say about the player "He's a big talent, 21 years of age, he scores goals, and his passion, focus and concentration is a very important part of his game - and a big part of what you want from a player. He's technically strong, he's a good finisher with both feet, he can play central or on the sides in a 4-3-3 up front, he's quick, and he's tactically very good,"

Also being a young player near the full International squad having appeared at Under-21 level, he also said of him, "I'd anticipate that over the next two or three years he'll really progress and I'm sure do very well for Liverpool. He fits the model of what we're trying to do in building not only for now, but also for the future.

The trouble is that this was 3 years ago, the player being Fabio Borini.
Surprising how quickly (th)Ings can change!
