Genius! Martin O'Neill has never been one to hide his emotions - but his declaration in front of the cameras that Ashley Young was one of football's great talents after a last minute winner was a moment of madness.
A few years have passed since that particular incident but it has clearly never been forgotten by some. Well, clearly not by Ashley Young.
Young is not a popular figure at any away ground, the constant diving and whining becoming increasingly irksome as the seasons roll on - against Wigan he hit a new low.
Aston Villa have capitulated from Champions League hopefuls to something entirely different. Team spirit has looks lost and players look to be in it for what they can get. There is an argument to say that if it was not for Kevin MacDonald they would be relegated. Deservedly so.
At the heart of Villa's problems is their out of control egos. Ashley Young equalised at Villa Park against Wigan in front of Fabio Capello. Having been outplayed Villa got back into the game with a familiar Young tumble and a goalkeeping error.
The whole game, the whole mood of the club has gone stale. Was this really the stage for a Young 180 degree pirouette followed by the classic 'look at me' pose? Apparently so. Like a knight that had won his princess bride through the most extravagant joust - Young celebrated his moment of joy in the 1-1 draw at home to Wigan.
Thankfully we were all spared a similar moment from his chief collaborator in self-satisfaction Darren Bent as his hit and miss career went on to miss again.
No doubt the disinterested Italian coach in the stands will have taken note of such exaggerated self-importance ... and liked what he saw! What a turn off.
