A History Of Liverpool Thespians - Connor Wilkinson

Connor Wilkinson was born on the 31st of October 1996 in Liverpool and spent time in Belgium and Scotland filming a pilot for a children’s movie based on the Ulysses Moore fantasy book series. Also, he spent time going to ABD drama school every Saturday, the North Academy of Performing Arts - Ballet and Dance, from 2009 to 2013. It was in January 2010 that 'Hollyoaks' series producer Lucy Allen quit her role and was replaced by Paul Marquess, who immediately began a revamp of the series. This led to several characters being axed and new signings were revealed. The O'Connor family were the third new family to be announced, with former 'Brookside' actress Alexandra Fletcher being cast as the stepmother of Liverpool family the O'Connors, centred around father Rob (Gary Cargill), stepmother Diane Hutchinson (Alexandra Fletcher), and children Sinead (Stephanie Davis) and Finn (Connor Wilkinson). Marquess commented on the family: "We're very excited about the arrival of the O'Connors who burst onto screens in August 2010 with a very dramatic storyline. And I'm personally very excited to work with the fantastic Alex Fletcher again."

After Finn's arrival, it was announced that he and Amber Sharpe would be involved in an underage sex storyline. 'Hollyoaks', teaming up with Channel 4 Education's Battlefront web series would explore sex involving two 12-year-olds, which would lead to Amber's pregnancy. Connor said of the story, "I play the youngest of the O’Connor family and almost immediately Finn landed himself in trouble! It was fantastic to be involved in such a strong storyline right from the start." Finn became a teenage father at 12 before leaving with his father, Rob, in 2011. He returned as a menacing character, raping teacher John Paul McQueen and attempting to rape Nancy Osborne, resulting in a prison sentence. His character last appeared on the 19th of September 2011, however his departure was only announced in August 2012 by series producer Emma Smithwick. The character would return to the series after two years but recast by Keith Rice. All in all Connor appeared in 30 episodes of the 'Soap'. In 2011 Connor worked as a product assistant for the film 'Make Yor Paths Straight' and has also appeared at the Liverpool Empire Theatre where he played Lyle in the musical 'Footloose' and a supporting T-Bird in 'Grease.

Connor then turned to ice skating performing with Magic Sur Glace and 'Disney on Ice' from 2013 -2017. This included both paid and unpaid acting work, including, 'Cinderella on Ice', 'Aladdin on Ice', 'Snow White on Ice', 'Jack and the Beanstalk on Ice', 'Magic on Ice' (French production) and 'Ice Theatre of GB'.
He said, " I've been appearing on the ice as everybody's favorite Disney characters. Whilst performing for Disney on Ice, I've also appeared in both Radio and TV interviews and also being involved with various PR events. Acting has been part of my life for a long time and I'm now looking at broadening my career by trying new things and stepping into new roles.
