Liverpool is renowned for its history in music, producing some of the most acclaimed female artists in the world, from Marsha Ambrosius to Cilla Black. Jazmine Johnson takes her first steps in becoming a part of that lineage with her debut single, 'If I Ever'. The Soulful/Pop songstress from Liverpool first started performing at age 11 with a band at the famous Cavern Club, and later developed her own style and sound, which sits somewhere between Allen Stone and Lauryn Hill. Having previously played Dublin’s Bloom festival, and Nottingham’s Vegan Campout, and being supported by BBC Music Introducing, the acclaimed LIMF Academy and Bido Lito! Sound, Jazmine Johnson has given herself a strong starting point as she releases 'If I Ever'. Jazmine says, "My family were always very musical, my dad taught me to play guitar so I began enjoying singing along to songs when practicing and I was always into poetry from a young age. These things just came hand in hand for me so I began writing songs and performing them from a young age at places like the Cavern which just made me fall in love with the whole process of creating and delivering my work to audiences. I love to fuse organic sounding instrumentation with a modern element of production to create a feel of nostalgia and originality but still keeping it current. I had the pleasure of being apart of LIMF Academy a few years back which gave me so many opportunities to connect with industry professionals, other artists and received funding to support my projects."
Fast forward 4 years and there is no one quite like Jazmine Johnson who at just 25 years old, with incomparable vocals, is fast
becoming the go-to writer and featured singer for many of the most
respected EDM, Drum N Bass, and Dance artists out there. Hailing from the heart of our music city, Jasmine blends her unique blend of mainstream R&B, Soul, and Dance with expressive colourful lyrics that resonate deeply with those who feel they don’t quite fit in. Aside from her undeniable writing talents, Jazmine's outstanding voice boasts a rare combination of originality and versatility drawing from a wide range of both contemporary and classic influences. She is a rising star who is fast becoming one of the most talked about emerging artists in the UK, fuelled by her outstanding vocals on 'Hell In High Heels' by Belgian Artist and international superstar Netsky which amassed over 6 Million streams world wide. With her debut 'Netsky' collaboration release already now achieving over 10m streams and with many scheduled releases coming from artists such as Poltergst, Goddard, and significant others of similar standing, word of this extraordinary girl is about to become exponential. In between her busy collaborative schedule, Jazmine’s debut solo EP/album is also currently in production with an award-winning multi UK chart achieving team.
In September 2024 she posted on her Facebook page, "Thrilled to be part of this year’s award-winning @limfacademy talent development programme, selected as one of the most ready Artists in Liverpool. Big shout out to everyone involved in making this happen."
