Pool Of Sound - Pet Snake

Originally part of the successful Liverpool indie band, 'Clean Cut Kid', Evelyn Halls decided to set up her solo project 'Pet Snake'. After spending the last decade playing and writing for others, Evelyn has taken strides to carve out her own path together with being part of 'Clean Cut Kid'. Mixing sounds of indie folk, grungey pop and early 00's emo; 'Pet Snake' brings you into her sadly beautiful world whilst delivering with a voice that can silence even the rowdiest of rooms. In October 2024, Graeme Smith, Editor in Chief of York Calling wrote, "Clean Cut Kid’s Evelyn Halls’ solo project 'Pet Snake' returns to our pages with a stripped back version of her track, 'Crashing'. We adore the music of 'Pet Snake' here on this blog, and have been following Evelyn from her 'Clean Cut Kid' days. 'Crashing' has appeared before on this blog, earlier this year, so it’s great to welcome the track back thanks to its Easy Version. The new version strips things right back, giving us an intimate and atmospheric instrumental that leaves plenty of space to Evelyn’s expressive vocals and captivating lyrics. While the original version was upbeat and anthemic, this version feels more personal and is utterly heart-breaking. Evelyn has also announced a new EP of acoustic reworkings of her tracks called 'Hard (Easy Versions)', set for release on 30 January 2025 via Dance To The Radio."

My range as a singer means I can cover choral parts from tenor to mezzo soprano and as a cellist I often get hired to cover all parts of a string ensemble. Strings: I can write and record a single cello line for your track, or build up layers to create the effect of a full string ensemble.

Vocals: I can write a top line for your track, provide BV's or arrange and record a full choir.

I have 10 years experience in the industry across my various disciplines of cello, vocals and keys having spent the last 5 years touring, recording and writing with UK indie band Clean Cut Kid as a vocalist/keys player. I have provided string arrangements for all 3 of their studio albums (and 4th in the pipeline) as well as building impressive choral parts using just my voice.

With regard to my string services, whilst spending a lot of the last 10 years playing in bands and studios, I have also played and toured the world in orchestras- so I feel I have an insight into both worlds that I can utilise when bringing strings to your track."
