Pool Of Sound - Reignmaker

'Reignmaker' is a 5 piece guitar band from their native city Liverpool, combined of Linus Bell, Jude Williams, Isaac Grover, Harry Fox.and Jobe Owens. They were a support act ahead of Jamie Webster’s memorable set at the Pier Head in June 2023, a proud moment for them. It marked a major milestone for the group, who formed five years ago while they were at Gateacre School. Jobe, said the first gig was in "someone’s back garden".  It was Jamie who gave them their first chance to gig outside of Liverpool on his UK tour last year, and they both share the same agent. Linus said: "He’s been a massive help for us. We've supported him in London in Shepherd’s Bush, in Blackpool and in Liverpool. It's properly helped us as an up-and-coming band to get our names out there".

Their sound has been described as 'music for the now', combining youthful energy, mystery and desire and their debut single 'Hope I’m Not Alone’ was followed by 'Find My Own Way'. With those two stellar singles already under their belts the band had been tipped by BBC Introducing and Steve Lamacq and are quickly becoming one of the most hotly-anticipated young bands in the North West. Rising up through the underground scene of their native Liverpool, the passionate indie quintet have already established a distinctive style as they channel their youthful spirit and charismatic 'scouse' personalities to create a sound that radiates an uplifting optimism. Combining swelling rock and roll textures with soaring vocal chorus' and lyrics filled with a striking poignancy, their sound is one that is impossible to ignore. Their melodies could be compared to a classic Britpop style but there is a difference in their sound. They are heavier, moodier even, than the likes of 'Oasis' and 'The Stone Roses'. You especially get a feeling for this when seeing them live.

In July 2023 they released their debut EP, 'We Go Round' via Modern Sky UK. The release is led by the soaring title-track 'We Go Round', an optimistic ode to the band’s growth as artists and as close friends. Fusing swelling indie-rock melodies with buoyant choruses and bittersweet lyricism, the new track syphons 'Reignmaker’s' knack for creating colourful tracks that feel heady and euphoric but loaded with a sting in their tail. Of the new track, the five-piece explain: "This song is very special to us because it’s a reflection of our journey as musicians and as friends. We poured our hearts and souls into this track. It’s a celebration of the ups and downs of life, and how we keep moving forward no matter what. From the lyrics to the driving rhythm section, 'We Go Round' is a true representation of our aspiring sound and style." A testament to the band’s tight musicianship and sonic creativity, the extended release also features the bouncing, retro rock-infused 'Thirteen’s Fate' and ethereal instrumental track 'Interlude'. With its arresting take on indie instrumentation, compelling vocal harmonies and earnest lyrics, the EP takes listeners on a dynamic journey that recalls the volatility of youth and its inevitable up-and-down emotions.

Now, fresh off the back of their hometown headline show at the O2 Academy 2 and supporting Jamie Webster at Liverpool’s Pier Head and at London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire and having amassed packed-out crowds at Neighbourhood Weekender and Liverpool Sound City, their sights are set firmly on a bigger hometown headline show for the end of the year. Having already supported 'The Lathums', 'The Cheap Thrills' and Jamie Webster, the band are set for their own headliner at Hangar 34 on the 4th of November 2023.
