Born and bred in the heart of Liverpool, with family linked to the Beatles back in their school years, and brought up in a family of musicians, Catherine has live music flowing through her right from the heart. Catherine Cook, now known as the singer/songwriter Cathy Carter, and sometimes known as 'The Beatelle', has been performing at Liverpool International Beatle week for over 10 years, and is a resident at the Cavern Club. A founding member of Liverpool's all-girl, Beatles cover band 'The Beatelles' as their Rhythm guitar player she has had the privilege to play at some of the most prestigious Beatles events around the world, including five times at International Beatle week, when the band held a residency at the world famous Cavern Club.

She formed the UK's only female Beatles tribute band back in 2009 and for several years has performed at the world’s largest Beatle Inspired music festival 'Abbey Road On The River' in Jeffersonville, USA. Cathy's brother also plays in a Beatles tribute band. Like the rest of 'The Beatelles', she was born after 'The Beatles' split up, but her father was a huge fan of the Fab Four, and he had her singing their songs as a little girl – the love of their music has passed down the generations. Catherine was joined by bass player Louisa Roach and guitarist Stephanie Grace Kennedy and drummer Nadine Kemp replaced by Sian Monaghan. The foursome played more than 100 gigs in the Cavern and played with the likes of 'The Persuaders', Denny Laine (from 'Moody Blues' and 'Wings'), 'Hal Bruce and his Summer of Love band', 'The Swinging Blue Jeans' and 'The Pete Best Band'.
After starting a family and now flying solo, single mum Cathy performs weekly at the Cavern. Her set focuses mainly on the sounds of the 60s, ranging from Del Shannon through to Bob Dylan and, of course, the music from her own city, Liverpool. Since pursuing a solo career Cathy’s versatility has deservedly gained her resident status at many Irish bars and live music venues around Liverpool. She is in great demand in the thriving Liverpool Irish music scene and has revived her Irish roots, whilst completing her family tree, tracing her father’s grandparents from Dublin and her mother’s Grandparents from Cavan. Cathy has a strong love for her ancestry and is involved in many Scouse Irish community projects.
