Pool Of Sound - Roxanne Jones

Roxanne Lauren Jones was born on the 23rd of December 1992 in Toxteth, Liverpool and was raised here along with her older sister. Having attended Lidderdale Infants School and then Morrison Junior school, she began to develop an interest for music especially some of the artists her older sister idolised. During her time at secondary school, Calderstones Comprehensive School, she was urged to try out for the local choir by her sister. Music had always been a part of her family and she grew up listening to the great classics, and different varieties of music. It was during choir that Roxanne began to release her soulful and talents. Having previously suffered from confidence issues, singing provided the perfect release for her and gave her the drive to focus on her talents. After participating in various local talent shows her potential was recognised by a number of labels, but she missed out on a recording deal due to an ear and lung infection, pleurisy, a serous membrane surrounding the lungs and a perforated ear drum. Repeated visits to doctors saw her struggle to maintain her singing voice but even being partially deaf she continued her love of music through her illness and moved to London to work as a studio artist. Having been supported by her family both emotionally and financially during her time in London she also received sponsorship from a local housing association in Liverpool as she learned the 'musical ropes'. Coming home after her time in London she took the sensible step of combining her music with study. Studying for a qualification in Health and Social Care at Hugh Bird College she gained practical experience working in a local care home. With music being her passion she entered a local singing competition and at the age of 19 was scouted by a producer who had music company. This resulted in her signing for R-Ola Productions in July 2012 having received a number of other offers. It all went from there as she started to perform at local venues around Liverpool and opened a show for Esco Williams.

After gaining certification in Health and Social Care at Hugh Bird College, she burst onto the scene in 2013 with her debut single 'Living A Lie' which tells tells of that all-too-familiar pain which follows the effects of deception. This was taken from her forthcoming debut album 'In My Words' which was released in 2014.

Everything appeared to going so well and then Roxanne seems to have disappeared off the music scene, which seems such a shame.
