'Silent K' is a ferocious, somewhat unhinged, four piece with unique and infectious melodies and electrifying, rip-roaring hip-hop infused rock n roll that has already seduced and charmed audiences into their fizzy-pop platter of sonic fury and vivacity. Their frontman and founder Chris Taylor (aka The Pineapple King) has explained the origins of these rough-edged rockers: "The band’s name came from the silent 'K' in Knowsley, which is where I and Dave McCabe are from." Chris was inspired to start playing at home by his dad and Granddad who both played guitar in bands and down the local pub. There was always a guitar in the house and music being played. It took him a while to get to grips with the guitar but something about the way it looked and smelt always kept him coming back. Shortly after the split of 'The Zutons' Chris played in Dave McCabe's solo project, 'Dave McCabe and the Ramifications' and toured with them for two years before it all ended abruptly following disagreements between members. Chris and Dave fell out and even though they were still best mates they felt like they needed some time apart. Chris was living down in London and remembers coming back up to Liverpool to see some old friends and saw 'The Fat White Family' playing live. Next thing he knows he was on a plane heading for America with them. Playing for 'Fat White Family' in New York, after a week playing with them in Manhattan, he returned home and began jamming again with Dave.

They didn’t release their first single until the summer of 2020, but even before that had experienced major support slots with Noel Gallagher, 'Reef', 'Fat White Family' and 'Working Men’s Club'. In May 2018 'Silent-K' supported Noel Gallagher’s 'High Flying Birds' at Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff. They've had a few set backs over time and the line up has changed so many times since Chris and Dave started the band with drummers leaving and drummers joining. Dave also was in and out and so they'd had about 17 different players in the band before they'd even put out the first single out Apart from Chris, the band is a totally different line-up from the original, with originator Dave McCabe leaving the live line-up to re-join 'The Zutons'. Although no longer a permanent live member, Dave still makes the occasional guest appearance and features strongly on their debut album.
Inspired by his schoolmate Lee's older brother Dave Davies and his mate Richie Conlan, they showed Chris the light when it came to originality and creating something from nothing. "You just gotta be confident in your opinion of what you believe sounds good and run with it. I’ve come a long way since then. Just last year I got to play on a session with Richie Conlon at Abbey Road Studio 2 for 'David Silcock & the Castaways'. It was a massive honour to be playing next to someone I’d always looked up to and admired starting out." Chris has adopted the revolving line-up approach, creating a squad of players with drummer Fazzle Razzett (aka Adam Goldberg), Dr Fingerlord (aka John Prosser) on Keys and the Time Chef (aka Andrew Ashton) on bass. As he says, "It’s a squad game these days." In March 2022 details were announced of their third single, 'DOORSTEP', ahead of their debut album mixed by famed 'Arctic Monkey's producer Ross Orton later that year. Following their sold-out tour supporting fellow Liverpool legends 'Cast', the band have now also announced a Spring UK tour with Manchester head collective 'Heavy Salad' which will also feature renaissance rebel Joel Goldberg (aka Dancing To Architecture).
