Liverpool musician Jack Gill bounced onto the Liverpool music scene back in January 2020 when he released his debut track, 'One Day'. Jack then played legendary Liverpool venues including; The Zanzibar, Phase One and Studio 2 alongside some popular Liverpool acts releasing more tracks like 'Sky High' and 'Our Time'. Playing more shows across the city he then released a new single, ‘With Me’, set to be released on Friday 26th March 2021. Throughout the song you can hear the catchy harmonica riff that leaves you humming along for hours later as the chorus is very catchy too. He has taken the best parts of all the indie hits over the years and put them into 'With Me' creating a really good track. He originally got into music hearing his dad play 'The Beatles' and him singing along to them. His mum was big into music as well and used to play the likes of Nina Simone and the old soul stuff which appealed to him as well. So from a young age he was exposed to proper music and that just carried on as he grew older and was musically influenced by the lyrics of Bob Dylan, John Lennon and Richard Ashcroft.
After his highly successful first release of 2021 of 'With Me', which amassed over 15k streams on Spotify, his second single of 2021, 'Ballad of a 90s Kid' was an upbeat rocknroll stomper, described by Jack as being "a short story on a man who sold his soul to the devil". He added a band behind him when playing which he said, "It’s helped me improve as a musician massively, I take more risks now musically and maybe try things that I wouldn’t have 12-18 months ago." August 2021 saw Jack Gill return to Jimmy's to the headline slot once again, supported by 'The Marigolds', with his full band showcasing his brand new tunes such as 'With Me' and 'Ballad of a 90s Kid'.
In March Jack Gill was set to release bluesy rocknroll stomper, 'I Want It All' and this first release of 2022, as he looked to build upon
the momentum gathered in 2021 which saw him release a live EP, "Live From Penny Lane Curch' as well as his two singles.
The lyrics of 'I Want It All' are really powerful and poignant and encourage you to seize the opportunity that life throws at you, rather than complaining. The track is a stompy blues rocknroll anthem, built around a hypnotic guitar riff, which you could imagine Arctic Monkeys conjuring up on their more rockier moments. In June 2022 he tweeted, " Busy few weeks ahead starting with the release of our next single 'Moonchild' June 24th from our upcoming EP 'The Overlook'. "
