Pool Of Sound - Tom Rogan

Following on from his single, 'Lonely Hearts of Everton Park', February 2021 saw the single, 'Here We Are', from teenage student Tom Rogan, soar to the top of the iTunes top ten within days of its release. It went to No.1 in the iTunes singles chart, No.1 in the alternative charts, and also peaked at No. 2 in the singer / songwriter charts, beating the likes of Ed Sheeran, Justin Bieber, Cardi B and 'The Weekend' to the top spot for the week, all with only 3 days in the charts when the competition had a full week of sales ahead of him. His fanbase is already at over 200k and growing across his socials, down to his likeable personality and obvious talent that comes across in the track.

Tom, then 19, who grew up on the Grizedale estate in Everton, told the Liverpool Echo that everyone on his street had downloaded the song. He said: "All my neighbours on Beacon Lane have bought or streamed the song, old and young. People have congratulated me for what I have achieved so far." In the second year of his BA Music degree at media, music and performing arts at LMA in Liverpool city centre, a performing arts institute partly owned by Robbie Williams, Tom said he was baffled by the song's success, as it has outperformed some of the world's biggest artists'. The stars have certainly aligned for Tom and huge things are happening for him down to the success of the song at such a top level of the industry. To make it more appealing to the amazed music business watchers he did it with no press, no radio play, no paid promotions, simply just sharing the song and appealing to fans to maybe check it out and help it take off. It did, and the future is bright. He said: "It must be down to people power. I've got a great loyal fanbase, I haven't paid for any promotion or radio play. It's just me and my friend Chris Grant promoting it on our socials. I think I have a good grassroots following in the city and that has been enough to get me out there. But I need help if I am to sustain the success." He found himself appearing one week after the release of his single at the Arts Club on Saturday the 11th of Sep 2021 at 7:00pm and Saturday the 11th of Sep 2021 at 11:00pm.

Tom had been recording his own material for some time and, with his friend Chris Grant, used easy to use software to upload this latest song to iTunes. He says he was inspired by classic British artists such as 'The Beatles', 'Arctic Monkeys ' and Noel Gallagher. The North Liverpool man now wants to start singing to live audiences more now it is safe to do so. He said: "I just want to make great music and hopefully get to play live soon when everything gets back to normal." Richard Wallace, co-founder of media, music and performing arts institute LMA said at the time: “We're incredibly proud of how Tom has gone out there and got his music heard by so many people in such a short space of time. It's a true testament to his talents, the skills he's been able to hone at LMA and, crucially, his drive to succeed. At LMA, we make sure we maintain a close-knit community and, despite us being in lockdown at the moment and unable to all be together, I know that our students will join me in giving a Tom a huge pat on the back – we’re excited to see what his future holds."

Tom released another 3 singles in 2021, all of them reaching the top 10 in iTunes on the sales charts. His debut headline shows in Liverpool sold out in September at The Arts Club Theatre and Tom was then invited to headline a stage at the prestigious Sound City music festival in his hometown in October, which also sold out fast. More music followed with Tom booking shows across the UK for 2022, including a stop at one of the city’s biggest venues when this emerging artist took to the stage of O2 Academy, Liverpool on the 23rd of July 2022. He had posted on Facebook - " My headline gig in the @o2academyliverpool is sold out. How’s a fat little meatball head from Everton done that then. See you all tomorrow, love yas x "
