Everton - Glass Half Empty or Full?

Social media has many negative comments today regarding the transfer of Richarlison to Tottenham and on the face of it understandably so. Many point out the fact that without his goals, his work rate and attitude we probably would have been relegated last season. However when you look at the bigger picture the club need to have an overhaul and we have a young positive manager who should be allowed a free hand to build the squad he wants. As Charles Stevenson tweeted; 'Richarlison may have (temporary) Champions League football, a world class coach (who will end up being sacked or leaving after a year) and an incredible stadium (as Everton will have soon) but he is leaving the best, most passionate fans in the country.'

Lampard, in my opinion, has decided that DCL is to be his No.9 next season and looking at the pictures accompanying the new kit launch, Dele and Anthony Gordon are firmly in his plans. Poor spending by previous managers placed the club in a position under Financial Fair Play rules that would restrict the manager in immediate incoming transfer deals. However it would seem that loan deals involving young energetic midfield players plus a permenant replacement for Richarlison are more than likely. It should be remembered that the current squad almost relegated us and there is a need to remove a lot of under performing players enabling more of our own young players the opportunity to gain first team experience. The addition of Tarkowski to line up with Godfrey, Mykolenko and Patterson in front of Pickford looks fine. With Iwobi revitalised in midfield, hopefully we can begin the season still in optistic mood and I am  looking forward to it.
