'MiC Lowry' is a five-piece vocal harmony group from Liverpool blessed with a blend of voices that creates a sound that is both silky smooth and razor sharp, singing pop, contemporary R&B and soul music. This five-member band was formed in 2011 and is made up of Delleile Ankrah, Akia Jones, Kaine Ofoeme, Ben Sharples and Michael Welch, backed by light and tight guitar, sparse beats and clicks, with everything designed to leave maximum room for the voices.
The band's name comes from Manchester's Lowry Centre, which was the first venue the boys performed in.
The five all grew up within a mile of each other and attended Calderstones School, previously known as Quarry Bank High, with John Lennon and 'The La's' John Power two of its former pupils. They are a group of their time, with a bond of friendship as tight as their harmonies with nods towards the best ice cool pop of the moment and the thriving UK urban scene.
Weaned on Motown and nineties R&B, they were discovered by their mentor Esco Williams, who, with the support of local youth organisation Positive Impact, helped them find an online audience via some timely covers. They appeared on BBC Introducing Merseyside stage and BBC Radio 1Xtra and in 2014 won the MOBO Unsung Award and the following year were nominated for the BET Best International Newcomer.
The band released their EP, 'The Show', in 2015 and their first single, 'Oh Lord', in 2016, which was heard over 63 million times on Spotify, with sampling and large rearrangement of parts of the Phil Collins hit, 'In The Air Tonight'.
In 2016 they won Liverpool's GIT Award and performed on the BBC Introducing Stage at Glastonbury, supported 'Boyz II Men'. They ended 2016 by being handpicked by Justin Bieber to support him on the European leg of his 'Purpose' tour, performing in 37 European dates in 22 cities, including six sold-out nights at London's O2 Arena. Similarly to Bieber, the group gathered a fan base via online platforms such as YouTube, where they have posted many notable covers and mash-ups.
Their follow-up single, 'Whiskey Kisses', was released on the 10th of March 2017.
Initially signed with Universal Music Group, they instead opted to develop and progress organically after the release of their EP 'MOOD' in 2017, honing their own style in their own time on their own terms.

Embarking on their own tour in 2017, in March they were picked by the American radio and television personality Elvis Duran as his Artist Of The Month and performed live on NBC's national 'Today' programme, in addition to a number of media shows and live appearances in various
US venues which included New York and Los Angeles. Following their massive tour with Justin Bieber, and with their fan base having grown immensely, in early 2017 they played their biggest show to date in their hometown at a packed O2 Academy delivering the outstanding vocal abilities that give them their edge.
Rehearsing in Elevator studios where every single person in the
Liverpool music scene at the time was either based in, or passes
through, on the 19th of October 2018 they released their first single as
independent artists, 'Tesla', a collaboration with the record producer Diztortion.
On the 10th of June 2019 they opened at the Manchester Arena for the 'Backstreet Boys' DNA and also released the single, 'Legless', in August 2019. However Akia Jones left the group at the start of 2020 and in May 2021 the quartet released a new single, "Scared of Love", before their newly announced tour.
