Wk: 13 That Was The Week That Was

The days when this game mattered to players and fans alike.

Chelsea and Liverpool proved that they are the teams on fire
As they scored at will, with their players looking full of desire.
The other contenders all slipped up with only Man Utd winning
But it's still too early in the season for supporters to be grinning.
Possibly the biggest surprise was at the bottom end of the table,
Sunderland proving with a win that their season may be stable.
Hull at last had a victory, although they were slightly lucky to be fair,
In front of a stadium that at kick-off looked to be a little threadbare.
Mourihno is still picking fights, this time it's with Smalling & Shaw.
Questioning their committment while they're injured is really very poor.
How could Smalling give of his best when he has a broken toe?
His long term absence now may give Jose a period of woe!
Remember when England v Scotland had Baxter, Bremner and Law.
Dalglish, Charlton and Banks, as well as Ball, Souness and Moore.
Well on Friday we have a game with two squads that are not the best
With two managers who could be facing the sack if not up to the test.
In the end England won 3-0 but that really doesn't tell the whole story.
Scotland had their chances but nobody covered themselves in glory!
