Andy Cole spent a week in the charts at No.68 in 1999 with a Gap Band re-release of the single 'Outstanding'.


 Kevin Keegan was 'Head Over Heels in Love' in 1979 as he ventured into the pop world.


 In 1993 Ian Wright reached the dizzy heights of No.43 with 'Do The Right Thing'.


 Glenn Hoddle and Chris Waddle led the way for the likes of Beckham when they appeared on Top of the Pops singing 'Diamond Lights' in 1987.


 None compared with Gazza, who reached No.2 in 1990 with the unforgettable 'Fog on the Tyne.



One footballer also appeared on the Beatles 'Sergeant Pepper' album cover -No not Bobby Moore - instead the unlikely player is Liverpool FC's Albert Stubbins.
