Premier League Predictions

Saturday, 30 October 2010
Arsenal v West Ham
Arsenal have what it takes to roll The Hammers and they probably will. Still, The Hammers can score goals and if they can get into the lead it may become a little twitchy for The Gunners.
Prediction 2-1

Blackburn v Chelsea, 15:00
This could be a bad run for Blackburn and one that may very well define their season. Although there were injuries to take into account, it was a missed opportunity to take something from Liverpool. Chelsea are as tough as they come but they are not as free-flowing away from home. Expect a tough battle as usual but Drogba will come good... again.
Prediction 0-1

Everton v Stoke, 15:00
David Moyes will no doubt tell everyone who is listening that there are tough games ahead for Everton, but Stoke, Blackpool and Bolton represents a chance to correct the early season trouble. Everton are capable of pushing on and this is the time they must do it if they are to deliver on their strong potential. More trouble for Stoke, they are always in games - but sometimes that is not enough.
Prediction 3-1

Fulham v Wigan, 15:00
If Mark Hughes is going to get things going then here is his big chance. It seems like Wigan are always playing teams with more to lose - and they take advantage. Here we go again.
Prediction 0-1

Wolverhampton v Man City, 15:00
Wolves will have expected nothing at Chelsea and played without fear. To the neutral this fixture may have a similar feel but not to the Wolves fans. City have yet to earn such a reputation so will benefit from the open spaces as Wolves look to satisfy their crowd and push on. Adebayor will exploit it.
Prediction 0-2

Man Utd v Tottenham, 17:30
The fixtures are coming thick and fast for Spurs, facing United and Internazionale in the space of a few days is what life is like when you join the big boys. United have a new star in their midst. If 'Little Pea' can successfully replace 'Big Potato' then they may well march on. Not sure life is so simple for United right now.
Prediction 1-1

Sunday, 31 October 2010
Aston Villa v Birmingham, 12:00
A big city derby that fails to entice. Two sides who are of similar ability and very well organised. Like most of the league really. Gerard Houllier is a great cup manager, I am backing them for a Carling Cup victory, it all feels a bit stagnant in the league this time around.
Prediction 1-1

Newcastle v Sunderland, 13:30
Another derby and this one has a lot at stake. Sunderland have been looking a lot more polished in recent weeks and they seem to be growing in confidence. Newcastle spent the last 15 years acting like the big brother in the North East, this time around they look like the petulant little kid. Moody, erratic, belligerent but sometimes brilliant. The Liam Gallagher of the Premier League. They will have enough attitude when it really matters.
Prediction: 1-0

Bolton v Liverpool, 16:00
Bolton are taking it to teams this year. No doubt that their manager feels comfortable in his position and their seems no fear at the club at present. Do we need to bother making the obvious list of contrasts between themselves and Liverpool. Roy Hodgson bought himself some time with a scrappy win last weekend and will hope that Fernando Torres may start to flicker back into life. Steven Gerrard played last week like it was a cup final, having never taken Liverpool to Wembley it may be as close as he gets from this point foward. This is going to be another hard slog.
Prediction 1-1

Monday, 1 November 2010
Blackpool v West Brom, 20:00
The Baggies are the headline makers this season, but just because they got promoted together does not mean these two sides should be judged the same. West Brom have spent nearly a decade in that weird gap between the football league and the top flight. They have had more parachutes than Cheryl Cole. It is all set up for West Brom to win and start that crazy European talk so there is no doubt that Blackpool will bring the lights to Monday Night Football.
Prediction 2-1
