Premier League Predictions

A look ahead to this week's Premier League fixtures

Saturday, 18 September 2010
Stoke v West Ham, 12:45

Stoke had a great win over Aston Villa on Monday Night. It appears that City can indeed kick the ball higher than Villa. Still, a great chance for them to get back to back wins. Six points in a week and mid-table awaits for Stoke. West Ham have to get something to generate some belief - they have the players to do it.
PREDICTION 1-1

Aston Villa v Bolton, 15:00
This will be the last game for Villa before the much anticipated arrival of the French-revolution. They need to get the points in quick. They will have been downhearted by their loss on Monday. Pressure on Villa - Bolton with not too much to lose... you know what this means...
PREDICTION 0-1

Blackburn v Fulham, 15:00
It cannot be underestimated the loss felt by Bobby Zamora's injury. After losing Roy Hodgson and now Bobby-Z - last season's bubble appears to have been burst. Blacburn are formidable at Ewood.
PREDICTION 2-0

Everton v Newcastle, 15:00
It is clear to expect the unexpected from Newcastle. Here they will be unlikely to see much of the ball. Everton had Man Utd on the back foot for 20 minutes last week before breaking them down. It may be 90 minutes worth of pressure in this one as the Toffees' season gets into full swing.
PREDICTION 4-0

Tottenham v Wolverhampton, 15:00
Spurs will have a tough task against Wolves. They hit you on the break, hit you down the wings and when you have the ball ... they hit you. No point in Mick McCarthy getting all precious about it this week. He was laughing when he got points the two weeks previous. Spurs usually get a sensitive ref at The Lane. They will beat a 10-man Wolves here.
PREDICTION 3-1

West Brom v Birmingham, 15:00
The Baggies are becoming somewhat of a force at home where they could win more than they will lose. Birmingham did likewise last year. They are never blown away and could be too savvy for West Brom.
PREDICTION 1-2

Sunderland v Arsenal, 17:30
The Black Cats had a great result all things considers against a team they will be battling against most of the season. They used to get results in games like this at The Stadium of Light. Arsenal are light years away. Their performance in midweek will have them buzzing. If The Gunners can win at Blackburn ... they can win here.
PREDICTION 0-2

Sunday, 19 September 2010

Man Utd v Liverpool, 13:30
The game of the season so far I am sure SkySports will have you believe.
Everything should point to a Manchester United win. They have spent more, they have the better league form and players coming back from injury and being too scared to play. Then you see them bomb in midweek. Wayne Rooney was running rings around David Weir in training nearly a decade ago.. not so much now?!roy Hodgson will have watched in delight how a team found it so easy to keep United out. If Paul Scholes is stuck in reverse from 70mins on again Liverpool may sneak something late.
PREDICTION 1-1

Wigan v Man City, 15:00
This is a rivalry that flared when these two regulary battled it out in the lower leagues. For all the rebranding this one will still be hotly contested. Wigan have had mixed results, City have had mixed results. Toss a coin.
PREDICTION 2-2

Chelsea v Blackpool, 16:00
It would be great to think that this would be a massive upset. It would be great to think that it would show how everybody has a chance on any given day. It will prove the exact opposite.
PREDICTION 6-0
