A look ahead to this week's Premier League fixtures
Saturday, 21st August
Arsenal v Blackpool, 15:00
After the joys of upsetting Wigan on opening day, Blackpool face one of their toughest tests. Lets hope the resignation of Karl Oysten this week is not the beginning of the Seasiders trying to bercome something they are not. Arsenal will have too much and enjoy Blackpool's passing game.
Prediction: 4-1
Birmingham v Blackburn, 15:00
A tough one to call. Both teams have excellent defensive records. Both are great at home. There is a lot of talk about Blackburn and the money they will soon be having . Think we heard all this abut Birmingham not so long ago. These sides are closely matched.
Prediction: 0-0
Everton v Wolverhampton, 15:00
Everton suffered a surprise defeat at Blackburn last week. They will be looking to take all 3-points this Saturday. Wolves were unbeaten against the Toffees last term. It will be close, but Everton will have enough.
Prediction: 2-0
Stoke v Tottenham, 15:00
Stoke need their home form to be solid to keep them in this league. Tottenham had a scare in midweek, but they have so many players who can pull it out when it matters. An exhausting encounter expected.
Prediction: 2-2
West Brom v Sunderland, 15:00
The Baggies will feel like 'their season starts now'. Sunderland will feel hard done to having been reduced to 10-men last week. Both will want the win. Neither will get it.
Prediction: 1-1
West Ham v Bolton, 15:00
The Hammers want to gather some momentum under Avram Grant, while Bolton need to find goals. Their team lacks them, West Ham's does not.
Prediction: 2-0
Wigan v Chelsea, 17:15
Wigan are not perhaps as bad as last week's performance. Chelsea are every bit as good as their's. Carlo Ancelotti's men have a nice start to their season. The fixtures computer really is random.
Prediction: 0-2
Sunday, 22nd August 2010
Newcastle v Aston Villa, 13:30
The Magpies will take on a Villa side bursting with confidence. Whether or not that confidence is misplaced is another matter. A reality check awaits on Tyneside.
Prediction: 1-0
Fulham v Man Utd, 16:00
Fulham had a decent draw last week, but the truth is they could have been well beaten. United's scoreline did not do them justice - it should have been more.
Prediction: 0-3
Monday, 23rd August
Manchester City v Liverpool, 20:00
Another tight one and maybe the most telling so far this campaign. A real test for Roy Hodgson's well-organised outfit. City will have their way, but they will struggle to keep Fernando Torres quiet.
Prediction: 2-2
